Technological Challenges of Enterprises
Technological challenges are issues that require innovative solutions, new approaches, and advanced
technologies (including technology transfer) aimed at reducing environmental impact and improving
energy efficiency, with the objective of identifying and developing solutions within specific industries
under the GCIP Kazakhstan project.
List of enterprises with which technological challenges in the oil and gas sector are planned to be
addressed:
1. NCOC
2. CNPC-Aktobemunaigas JSC
3. Falcon Oil and Gas
| № | Technological challenges (environmental), related to the development and implementation of green technologies at enterprises * | Description of the challenge |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | Aerial monitoring using UAVs | Monitoring methane emissions at industrial sites. Monitoring wildlife objects (seals, birds). |
| 2. | Prevention of biogenic hydrogen sulfide formation in artificial water bodies | Formation of biogenic hydrogen sulfide in artificial ponds as a result of bacterial activity, which deteriorates ambient air quality. |
| 3. | Lack of a universal application | Development of a universal energy management application (in accordance with ISO 50001) for industrial enterprises |
| 4. | Lack of technological solutions for CO₂ capture and storage below USD 100 per ton | Identification of all commercially available technological solutions for CO₂ capture and storage. |
| 5. | Development of alternative energy in the event of the start of extraction and processing processes | Future development and use of promising installations, technologies, and fuels that are less widespread than traditional ones due to economic and technical reasons. |
| 6. | Modernization of equipment to improve energy efficiency | Replacement of obsolete mercury lamps with modern LED lighting. |
